Jeff was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. His career in toolmaking and metal fabrication along with his passion for photography led to development of a style of sculpture informed by both mediums. His freestanding banded sculptures and mounted banded and wire sculptures are often inspired by his photographs. He primarily uses copper wire, steel wire and steel banding. If you ask him, he will say his figures are not sculptures, he just bends the metal based his inspiration source. He's got an artists eye though and each of his pieces have a unique personality and character. His true love is to custom design/build for his clients. Animals, birds, pets, insects, custom vehicles, motorcycles have all been interpeted along with abstract representations. His sculptures are in homes, indoors and out in the garden. Many have said that they appreciate the ability to see through the sculptures, as they become part of the environment.
Jeff's interest in photography started in high school, and he has pursued it consistently. He really loves the convenience and gratification of digital photography and has embraced that wholeheartedly. He enjoys the search for the perfect photo composition. He also seems to have an obsession with sunrises and sunsets.
